Colin Story recovered this car as a partially stripped pile of bits, although it was complete, from Mr Brown of Waipururau (Hawkes Bay area)
Originally sold by Turner & Butler in Waipukurau in 1927 and used around the region until sold to Westend Motors about 1942. They used it for the next eight years until sold on again.
It finally ended up as a hot rod project!
Colin always had a dream to own his very own vintage car & saw this as the opportunity for which he had been hoping
Family commitments delayed the start of the rebuild,but this enabled him to go the night classes to learn panel beating & welding techniques
The car was finished in 1996
Colin and his family rallied the car extensively all over both Islands of New Zealand doing about 20000 trouble free miles until finally selling the car to England in favour of another Austin project
So the Story's story will continue!

I have had a note from Brian & Sheilagh Wilson of Hampshire who says that they are now the proud owners of 'Austie'. The reg now is SV8740. as a result of this article Brian and Colin are now corresponding
